I began thinking I would try to create an image of my grandmother's face. She recently passed away: July 16,  2010. The night that she died, I had a dream of her laughing and I woke up laughing from a deep sleep, even though I was extremely sad. Now when I think of heaven, I imagine getting to see her again and experience her love and warmth the same way I felt when I was with her on Earth.

But this face isn't just my grandmother. It is a generic warm, loving face that is meant to be whoever the viewer needs it to be. Above all, I believe that heaven is comfort.

Laura (and Will with moral support!) drew the spider web. The words say "Interconnect" and "All Is One." Laura expressed to me that when she thinks of heaven, she thinks of the interconnectedness of us all and she chose to represent that with a multicolored "spider web."
