Lets start a conversation in our communities about Gd, relationships and the Holy. 50 Days of Heaven a yearly exploration of spirit through art has begun. Join us if you can.

50 Days-2011 Heaven?

Here are the specifics:
I am asking 50 different people/ groups to take a square of sidewalk, a date and draw heaven - as a image, as a reality, as a mystery - what ever works for you - it could be as simple as a listing of chosen words or as complex as your version of the trinity .... Here is the Blogspot write up:

What does heaven look like? Is it simply the sky, a whirl of color, a swath of comfort? In Eastertide, as we observe with joy the days that Jesus walked the earth before his ascension into heaven; before the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles at Pentecost.

We will engage people from around our parish and our community asking folks to choose a day to draw their conception of heaven - what it might look like or mean to them - on a sidewalk square somewhere in their city. The only thing asked is that a picture is taken of the sidewalk and shared with us - along with the address of its location and the artist(s) who worked on its creation.

Interested in transforming a square of cement near you?
Contact Karen Mooney (soulfulstill@gmail.com) to secure a day.

To be involved is pretty simple:
1. Secure a day from me
2. Obtain chalk from me or the store (or obtain your ideal medium...) - Clearly you would need to do this on your own...
3. Draw on a sidewalk square
4. Take a picture - with your phone or a digital camera (don't let this be the stopper I will take the picture if needed)
5. Send me the following information: names of artists / location / date / digital picture

The pictures and a list of locations will go up on a blogspot page for others around the city to partake in (the address can be an estimate). I hope that you will take the time / chance to be involved - I wonder what might happen in the world made beautiful and thought filled by our efforts.
